Ashland County Land and Water Conservation Department and Wisconsin DNR will host aclassroom training to teach citizens how to monitor for invasive species in rivers. The River Alliance of Wisconsin’s Project RED (riverine early detectors) is a monitoring program that trains citizens to identify and report 16 invasive species within river corridors statewide.,

From there local historian Jan Cameron will lead the walk talking about Ashland’s Historic Social and Industrial Development. The walk will end at Memorial Park where Dr. Mike Meyer from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources will talk about the restoration taking place. | |

City of Bayfield home owners and businesses are encouraged to apply for water conservation mini-grants up to $200 and $500 respectively. Applications are being accepted from July 18 through October 14 on a first come first serve basis. Creative ideas for water conservation are encouraged. Water conservation ideas, suggestions, and information will be available at the Bayfield Carnegie Library and at City Hall. |
